Whatcha doin' Wednesday???

Today is the first "Whatcha doin' Wednesday" -

Tell us who you are.....what you've been doing (not just today, but for past week or so)............what you like.......what you hate.........what's the hardest thing about getting in shape/exercising/healthy living..........any recommendations? And anything else you want us to know.....

I thought this may be a great way to learn more about each other as well as get some support & motivation from others.

Leave a comment below............so what are you doing????? Don't be shy!

You all know what I am doing :) - but, I'll post what I am doing exactly later. I'm trying to decide if I want to have some quiet time or do some Yoga! Choices......choices.

  1. Wednesday......I should get in the habit of working out by 10AM, otherwise I am not as motivated to do it. I am STILL doing it, but it's "work" at that point.
I am doing the Shred for 30 days....just like it says. I gave myself last Sunday off because I have literally been working my BUTT off! I am wearing clothes better, bought some smaller sizes, and feel better. I am almost at the weight I was before having my three girls and that is a HUGE accomplishment! I have 5-7 more pounds I want to lose before we try for baby number 4. I am pretty sick and tired of people thinking it is dumb to get in shape/lose weight before getting pregnant, but there is no way I could handle a fourth pregnancy or fourth child without being in shape. It makes perfect sense to both David and I. I am establishing a workout routine so that I can continue working out while pregnant....someone hold me accountable to that! Who knows if I even will get pregnant....why waste valuable time? Ok, enough of that....
The Shred is great....my goal is to try Level 2 this Saturday or next Monday. Maybe I should try it with David home in case I pass out! I got a friend doing it now too (who lives in town) and that is even more motivating! I need accountability.
I am not eating grains, potatoes, corn, etc. I have maybe one piece of my bread (homemade) for breakfast, but that is it. David and I are researching lots and eating foods that do not cause inflammation in the body. It is great...I feel great!
So, Wednesday.....Shred later, but for now I am hungry and need something to eat!

  2. At the beginning of March, I started doing Carmen Electra's Fit To Strip DVD each night. Ouchie. I didn't do anything during our week in California, besides walking about 15 miles each day! We got home one week ago and immediately got sick. Since it's been affecting my asthma, I haven't been able to do anything and it's bugging the crap out of me. I find myself craving a workout, which is great. One good thing though - before I got in the shower last night, I looked in the mirror and I could tell a difference in my abs! My " former baby belly" was a little smaller! I thought I had just lost some weight from being sick (which I don't want to do, I just want to tone the muscles), but I weighed the same. I was quite pleased to see some results and that alone makes me eager to get back to my daily workout.

  3. I am running again. I feel like I can finally say that. I finished week 7, day 1 of C-5k and I ran 2.75 in 25 minutes. That means a 9:05 minute mile, which, for me, is OUTSTANDING. I'm also doing the Shred three times a week. My goal every week is to exercise 30 minutes 5-6 days a week. Its what I have time for, and I know I can realistically commit to that.

What I like about the Shred is that I am very weak in upper body, and doing this workout is helping me to get stronger. The first day I did Level 2 I couldn't get through without taking rest breaks. Yesterday was Day 4 of Level 2 and I did the whole thing following Natalie. Its amazing to me that really pushing myself even 4 times is enough to make a difference.

My favorite thing to tell myself when I feel like giving up?

It doesn't get easier if it doesn't start hard.
